Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Dato’ Low Kok Wah

Dato’ is responsible for charting and executing growth plans for the international VHQ network. He also undertakes strategic planning, and plays an active role in the recruitment and grooming of talent. Dato’ has been with Yellow River Network, VHQ’s parent company, since 1991. He was appointed to head VHQ in 1997. In 2013, he was conferred the Darjah Indera Mahkota Pahang (DIMP), which carries the title Dato’ by His Royal Highness Sultan Ahmad Shah of Pahang, Malaysia.

Kelvin Low

Kelvin began his career with VHQ Singapore in 2002 as Producer and Project Manager. He played a key role in setting up the operations at a brand-new facility housed at the Atrium to service MTV and Nickelodeon Asia.  In 2008, Kelvin was appointed Country Head for VHQ Vietnam , located in Ho Chi Minh City where he successfully built and managed an in-house studio and launched a VHQ-owned cable channel named E:Sports Channel,  carried by HTVC Vietnam.  Kelvin was posted to VHQ Indonesia as its Country Head in 2011 and appointed to his current positon in 2015. Prior to joining VHQ, Kelvin was with the Police force in Singapore. He was also previously a Sales Engineer with a hardware infrastructure solutions provider, servicing the tertiary education market in Singapore.      


Kelvin is a Malaysian with permanent residency in Singapore.  He holds a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Data Communications from Queensland University of Technology, Australia.

Mikki Ho

Mikki Ho joined VHQ in 1993 as the Executive Secretary to the Chairman.  Over the years, she was exposed to many facets of the business, including finance, administration and HR.  By 2001, she was the Head of Administration and HR as well as the Credit Controller of the various VHQ companies,  Mikki was part of the management team involved in the successful MBO of the VHQ companies in 2001 and became its shareholder and Director, with Administration and HR portfolio.  She is also part of the Corporate Team in VHQ, involved in the restructuring exercise prior to VHQ’s Series A fundraising in 2014 and throughout the entire process leading to its eventual IPO in 2015.

Mikki is a Singaporean. 

Chief Financial Officer

Ashley Boey

Ashley joined VHQ as Finance Manager in 2012.  She became VHQ Media’s Financial Controller in 2014 and subsequently she was promoted to her current position in 2016.  Ashley oversees all aspects of VHQ’s finance, accounting and treasury department, where she is responsible for financial planning, budgeting, audit and reporting. She also played a key role VHQ Media’s Series A fund raising exercise in 2014 and in the run-up to its eventual IPO in 2015.  Prior to joining VHQ, Ashley worked as a Producer for a leading film production company in Malaysia where she produced advertising commercials for many established FMCG and telecommunications brands, before moving on to becoming Senior Finance Manager in Ogilvy & Mather Malaysia (a WPP Company).

Ashley is a Malaysian and holds a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Accounting & Finance from the University of Nottingham, UK.


Renae Gan

Renae joined VHQ Malaysia as Assistant General Manager in 2012 and was promoted to her current position in 2013.  Apart from being tasked with the overall management of VHQ Malaysia, Renae is also a member of VHQ Corporate team.  She played a key role in VHQ Media’s Series A fundraising in 2014 as well as in the run-up to its eventual IPO in 2015.  She continues to be involved in financial planning and liaison with investment bankers, auditors and lawyers.  Prior to joining VHQ, Renae was a Marketing Manager for one of the largest dental supply company in the Asean region.

Renae is a Malaysian and she holds a Bachelor in Finance and Accounting degree from the University of East London, UK.

Kent Wang

Kent joined VHQ in 2014, bringing with him more than 20 years of experience in corporate finance and investor relations, having built up a vast network of resources spanning Taiwan, US, European and China markets. In his current position, Kent’s focus is to ensure that shareholders of the company are kept updated on key developments and performance on a timely basis. In the feature films space, Kent also spearheads the exploitation of co-investment opportunities with various media industry players. As a member of the VHQ Corporate team, he played a key role in VHQ Media’s Series A fundraising in 2014 as well as in the run-up to its eventual IPO in 2015.

Kent is a Taiwanese who holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Finance from the University of Southern California, USA.

Ben Yang

Ben joined VHQ Singapore in 2010 as the Executive Producer for Greater China.  In 2013, when VHQ China opened its doors, he was tasked with being the Head of Production and in 2015, promoted to his current position.  Prior to joining VHQ, Ben spent 8 years as a CG Lighting Artist and Visual Effects Supervisor in New Zealand, working on animated feature films for the Hollywood and the European markets.  Ben puts to good use his broad experience in film production, budgetary preparations, operations, resource management and wide industry contacts.  In a career spanning 14 years, Ben has worked with the notable and acclaimed Film Directors from the US, Europe and China such as Tony Bancroft, Frank Yablans, Jean Jacques Annaud, Lu Chuan and Guo Jingming.


Ben is a New Zealand national, a Certified Autodesk Expert and holds a Bachelor of Business Studies degree, majoring in Information System from Massey University, New Zealand.

Kenn Tan

Kenn’s forte is Sales and Marketing.  In his present position, Kenn is responsible for business development, pre and post sales management and handling of key accounts in Greater China.  He joined VHQ in 2003 as Vice President of New Media, where he spearheaded the development and subsequent licensing of content to Starhub in Singapore.  Kenn also played a leading role in securing  corporate sponsorships and advertising for VHQ’s cable channel, E:Sports, in Vietnam.  In 2010, Kenn was posted to China and tasked with the development of VHQ’s business in that market.  Prior to joining VHQ, Kenn was the Managing Director of Computer Associates Malaysia (CA), a major software and solutions provider and a Fortune 500, NYSE-listed company.  He was also the General Manager of Patimas Bhd, a leading KLSE-listed software solutions provider and General Manager at Maxis, Malaysia’s largest telecommunications company, listed on the KLSE.


Kenn is a Malaysian and he holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the National University of Malaysia.  


Dayne Cowan

Dayne joined VHQ in 2012, bringing with him 22 years’ experience in the visual effects industry, both as an artist and a manager.  In his present position, he is involved in every aspect of VHQ’s film projects – from creating initial bids, shot breakdowns and shooting logistics, to managing large teams of VFX artists.  Dayne’s list of film credits include John Carter, The Bourne Ultimatum, Batman Begins, Dead Mine, Stranger Than Fiction, 10000 BC, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, Scott Pilgrim vs The World, Batman: The Dark Knight, and the Academy Award winning film The Reader. Prior to joining VHQ, Dayne worked at major VFX companies such as Double Negative, Framestore, Cinesite and Molinare.  He is a Board Member of the Visual Effects Society (VES), and remains active on many of its international committees.


Dayne is British and he holds a Bachelor of Computer Science (First Class) degree, with sub-majors in Management and Design from University of Technology, Sydney, Australia.  


Michael Tan

Michael joined VHQ Singapore in 2015, bringing onboard more than 25 years of experience in advertising, brand building, marketing, communications, public relations and business management, having worked with and headed some of the foremost 4As Advertising Agencies in Malaysia, Hong Kong and Greater China like Grey, Ogilvy, and Saatchi & Saatchi.  In his current position, Michael focuses on formulating strategies and executing plans to refresh the VHQ brand and business in order to drive growth and profitability.  He also has 10 years’ working experience in Greater China region, and extensive experience handling global/MNC retail and manufacturing brands.  Winner of multiple P&G awards (Global recognition with an award for “Best Shopper Based Design”, innumerable Innovation Awards & “President’s Award” for the most outstanding integrated campaign globally), he was also part of the pioneering Shopper Marketing team with P&G to train / expand development across Australia, Asia and India.    


Michael is a Malaysian and he holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Industrial and Computing) degree from Monash University, Australia.


Mike Low

Mike joined VHQ Malaysia as Associate Producer in 2001 and promoted to be a Producer in 2004.  In 2008, he was posted to VHQ Singapore to become Senior Producer and Sales Manager.  In 2011, Mike was stationed in Mumbai where he spent 4 years to spearhead VHQ’s sales and marketing efforts, building a wide network of contacts and customer base, amongst of whom are icons in the Indian media industry such as Shah Rukh Khan and Abhishek Bachchan.  Much of the VHQ’s current business from the Indian sub-continent is a result of Mike’s efforts during his stint Mumbai. He was promoted to his current position in 2015, in which he is responsible for building and driving VHQ Indonesia’s business through the expansion of its client base and yield. Prior to joining VHQ, Mike was a Manager with Star Cruises, a subsidiary of Genting Group, Malaysia.


Mike is a Malaysian with Singapore Permanent Residency.

Billy Fong

Billy joined VHQ Singapore as an Engineer in 2001.  In his present position, he is in charge of all equipment and software acquisitions.  In 2003, he played a key role in setting up VHQ @Atrium, an MTV and Nickelodeon-dedicated facility in Singapore.  Since then, he has gone on to lead the relocation and establishment of new facilities in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam and China. For the past 7 years, Billy also has been leading the production of VHQ-sponsored content for Singapore’s national day celebrations.  In addition, he has also been involved in producing advertising commercials and headed logistical planning and executions for content production.  Prior to joining VHQ, he was a Sales Engineer with a supplier to the telecommunications companies in Singapore.


Billy is a Singaporean and he holds a Bachelor of Computer Engineering degree from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

Executive Creative Director, China

William Woo

William is primarily responsible for setting high creative standards for VHQ China, focusing on advertising and short form work. He plays a key role in the recruitment of talents, both within and ex-China.  William joined VHQ Malaysia in 2002 as Visual Effects Supervisor.  Having built up a formidable creative team in Malaysia, William was promoted to become Creative Director of VHQ Singapore in 2005, where he spearheaded VHQ’s creative work for leading clients such as DLKW Lowe London,   Lowe Singapore and Artek Partnership Jakarta, wining multiple regional and international awards along the way. He was then promoted to Executive Creative Director of VHQ China in in 2015.  Prior to joining VHQ, William was a Producer, Offline Editor, and Visual Effects Supervisor at a leading film production company in Malaysia.


William is a Malaysian with permanent residency in Singapore and he holds a Diploma in Audio Engineering, from the School of Audio Engineering, Malaysia.

Head of International Co-Productions

Sung Lin Gun

Lingun joined VHQ in 2014, bringing with his 20 years’ of experience in film and television  production, IP creation and acquisition.  In his present role, he is focused on the development and exploitation of IPs by setting up co-productions of Chinese feature films with various film studios.  Lingun is a multiple award-winning Director and Producer, having won a Golden Bell Award (金钟奖) for the animated movie “laMB” and an Emmy Award for “I Got a Rocket”.  His live-action and animation TV series and movies have been aired by major broadcasters worldwide.


Lingun is a Taiwanese and he holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, majoring in Photography from the University of Washington, USA.
