Country Head

Kelvin Low

Kelvin began his career with VHQ Singapore in 2002 as Producer and Project Manager. He played a key role in setting up the operations at a brand-new facility housed at the Atrium to service MTV and Nickelodeon Asia.  In 2008, Kelvin was appointed Country Head for VHQ Vietnam , located in Ho Chi Minh City where he successfully built and managed an in-house studio and launched a VHQ-owned cable channel named E:Sports Channel,  carried by HTVC Vietnam.  Kelvin was posted to VHQ Indonesia as its Country Head in 2011 and appointed to his current positon in 2015. Prior to joining VHQ, Kelvin was with the Police force in Singapore. He was also previously a Sales Engineer with a hardware infrastructure solutions provider, servicing the tertiary education market in Singapore.      


Kelvin is a Malaysian with permanent residency in Singapore.  He holds a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Data Communications from Queensland University of Technology, Australia.  

Assistant Country Head

Ben Yang

Ben joined VHQ Singapore in 2010 as the Executive Producer for Greater China.  In 2013, when VHQ China opened its doors, he was tasked with being the Head of Production and in 2015, promoted to his current position.  Prior to joining VHQ, Ben spent 8 years as a CG Lighting Artist and Visual Effects Supervisor in New Zealand, working on animated feature films for the Hollywood and the European markets.  Ben puts to good use his broad experience in film production, budgetary preparations, operations, resource management and wide industry contacts.  In a career spanning 14 years, Ben has worked with the notable and acclaimed Film Directors from the US, Europe and China such as Tony Bancroft, Frank Yablans, Jean Jacques Annaud, Lu Chuan and Guo Jingming.


Ben is a New Zealand national, a Certified Autodesk Expert and holds a Bachelor of Business Studies degree, majoring in Information System from Massey University, New Zealand.   

Director of Business

Kenn Tan

Kenn’s forte is Sales and Marketing.  In his present position, Kenn is responsible for business development, pre and post sales management and handling of key accounts in Greater China.  He joined VHQ in 2003 as Vice President of New Media, where he spearheaded the development and subsequent licensing of content to Starhub in Singapore.  Kenn also played a leading role in securing  corporate sponsorships and advertising for VHQ’s cable channel, E:Sports, in Vietnam.  In 2010, Kenn was posted to China and tasked with the development of VHQ’s business in that market.  Prior to joining VHQ, Kenn was the Managing Director of Computer Associates Malaysia (CA), a major software and solutions provider and a Fortune 500, NYSE-listed company.  He was also the General Manager of Patimas Bhd, a leading KLSE-listed software solutions provider and General Manager at Maxis, Malaysia’s largest telecommunications company, listed on the KLSE.


Kenn is a Malaysian and he holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the National University of Malaysia.  

Executive Creative Director

William Woo

William is primarily responsible for setting high creative standards for VHQ China, focusing on advertising and short form work. He plays a key role in the recruitment of talents, both within and ex-China.  William joined VHQ Malaysia in 2002 as Visual Effects Supervisor.  Having built up a formidable creative team in Malaysia, William was promoted to become Creative Director of VHQ Singapore in 2005, where he spearheaded VHQ’s creative work for leading clients such as DLKW Lowe London,   Lowe Singapore and Artek Partnership Jakarta, wining multiple regional and international awards along the way. He was then promoted to Executive Creative Director of VHQ China in in 2015.  Prior to joining VHQ, William was a Producer, Offline Editor, and Visual Effects Supervisor at a leading film production company in Malaysia.


William is a Malaysian with permanent residency in Singapore and he holds a Diploma in Audio Engineering, from the School of Audio Engineering, Malaysia.

Senior Producer

Jessmin Ang

With a heavyweight belt in post-production, Jessmin is one of the few highly respected female Post-Production Producers in the Asia region, with over one hundred high-quality TVCs and feature films credited to her. Fuelled by the industry’s pace and challenges, Jessmin’s take on a challenging brief is: “Simply put, nothing really stops this superwoman – not even sleepless nights and early mornings!”

VFX Supervisor / Art Director

Chris Yao

Chris Yao has over 10 years’ visual effects experience in both Hollywood films and Chinese films. His film credits include Martian, Tarzan, Ironman, 2012, and Constantine, while supervised film credits include The Last Supper, When Lights Goes Out and numerous TVCs. Chris treats every piece of his work like a masterpiece. With a strong background in art, photography and music, along with the passion for making film, you will see a lot of unusually brilliant work in his future films.

VFX Supervisor

Danny Yin

In 8 years of film and commercial productions, Danny has worked in numerous production houses, as a Post Production Supervisor, as well as on dozens of film and TV commercials as VFX Supervisor. He started his career as a 2-D Animator and Layout Artist, before venturing into Digital Production. His film works include Tiny Tim series, Ghostblow Out The Light, and League of Gods.

Head of Production Film Department

Kate Choi

Kate Choi joined VHQ Beijing in 2016 as the Head of Production for film department brining in 25 years’ of experience in the visual effects industry, both as an artist and a supervisor. In her present position, Kate is in charge of managing a team of VFX supervisor and development of talents. She is involved in project management, quality and budget control, resources and pipeline planning. Kate’s list of film credits includes Oscar winning film Lord of the Ring, Happy Feet and Curious Case of Benjamin Button.  Other film credits include Cinderella, Les Miserables, Total Recall, Happy Feet 1 & 2, Matrix, Blade and so on. Prior to joining VHQ, Kate worked at major VFX companies such as ILM, Sony Imageworks, Weta, Dreamworks, MPC and Double Negative.


Kate is a Korean American who holds a Master of Fine Art from University of California, Santa Barbara and Bachelor in Art from University of California, Los Angeles.
