Prep Artist


Job Level:

The Prep Artist is primarily responsible for preparing 2D digital plates for compositing. The incumbent’s daily operational tasks include wire and rig removal, cleaning green screens, to plate recreation for TVCs. The incumbent must be use able to use an array of proprietary software to produce realistic simulations of real-world.

  • Blue/green screen extractions
  • Create roto mattes, paint fixes, and prepare plates for compositing using Nuke
  • Able to constantly deliver excellent results with minimal supervision
  • To stay on schedule and meet deadlines whilst maintaining the highest quality of work.
  • Craft and update documentation for assets, tools, techniques and workflows.
  • Be creative, innovative with a level of good work ethics
  • Strong inter-personal skills with an ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Technically strong with a firm understanding of graphics and production workflow.
  • Extensive working knowledge on rotoscoping
  • Good eye for details with a good sense of timing and thorough understanding of techniques and technologies relating to physical simulation in computer graphics.
  • Possesses a strong sense of composition, light, color and a portfolio in Beauty touch-ups
  • Able to learn new software/techniques quickly.
  • Familiar with pipeline issues.
  • Able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Able to multitask in high-pressure environments
  • Able to learn new software/techniques quickly
  • Highly adaptable to change, feedback and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Is a highly-organized individual who has strong ability to plan and prioritize work.
  • Maintain and follow best practices for versioning control, naming convention and organization of files
  • Bachelor’s Degree in VFX or other equivalent major.
  • Minimally 2 years of experience as a Effects Artist or any other relevant experience in 3D or VFX industry.
  • Proficient in Nuke and Adobe Photoshop and Adobe After Effects
